The definitive work on golf equipment

This book covers every aspect of golf club design, fitting, alteration, and repair in a very thorough manner. It contains all the information that a person needs to get started in the golf equipment business and then some. The author describes in a great amount of detail the design of a golf club, and the effects the design decisions have on the final product. I find this to be very valuable information to have when selecting or evaluating equipment. I truly enjoy the sections on refinishing. The author goes to great lengths to thoroughly describe the techniques and he provides lots of pictures. He also points out common failing points and why they occur (like why a new polyurethane coat may crack). There are many other topics covered, and each topic is treated with a great amount of attention to detail. This is a must have for anyone who wants to expand their knowledge of golf equipment or start up a golf club repair shop.

OBSOLETE TECHNOLOGY

Although I cannot find a bigger or better book on the subject matter, it is such a waste to devote about one third of the text to obsolete woods (actually clubs made with wood heads). These clubsare no longer used by any pro or serious amatures.I will wait for drastic revision or coverage by new authors.

The best club making book ever made.

I think that all people interested in club making should by this book because it gives the proper methods on how to fit, grip, shaft and adjust lie. I also think experienced club makers should by this book because it has interesting tip on club making.
