An auhor who keeps getting better with each book she writes

The rich and famous are shocked when the heir to the Hampton fortune, Veronica Hampton Forsythe is found dead in her swimming pool. The death of a celebrity brings out the investigative powers of the police and the media as both tries to solve what appears to be a murder. In one corner stands television reporter Claire "the ice queen" Connelly. Her opponent, straight from the mean streets is police detective Jake Seringo.
