This is a breathtaking book; with startlingly vivid detail and amazing color photographs, several on each page. It was first published in 1999. Then, revised and reprinted in 2000 and finally one last time, revised and reprinted, by Barnes and Nobles, in 2001. It takes you on an epic journey; from the beginnings of time and space, to the birth of mankind, finishing with the development of the regions. This is a truly substantial plethra of reference; holding a wealth of information on the world, following it up by offering a comprehensive description of our nation's national identities as they have emerged in recent times.
