Good quality

One of the Best Graphic Novels I've Ever Read...

Fushigi Yugi is about a bouncy eighth grade girl named Miaka. She's just a regular junior high school girl trying to get through exams, but one day she goes inside a restricted library and opens up a book called The Universe of the Four Gods. She gets transported inside the book and finds herself in Ancient China. She had to get out of the book, so she has to find the seven oracles. On her mission she falls in love with a handsome seventeen year old guy named Tamahome. He's caring and does the best for his family by earning as much money as possible - but at first when Miaka tells her feelings for him, he rejects her and says doesn't feel the same way. Eventually Miaka discoveres that the beatiful emperor of Hong-Nan, Hotohori, is in love with her. By then Tamahome also discovers he had fallen in love with Miaka, so it form a love triangle. When this is all happening, Miaka is able to get in her own world...but then her best friend, Yui, who is the one who saved her gets stuck in Ancient China. A day passes by, then Miaka goes back to the restricted library to seek for Yui. She transports back into Ancient China, and she finds out a lot of bad things had happened to Yui during that time. Even though it was only a day in the present time, it was months in the other world. Yui sides with another country, and this forces them to become rivals.This is a good book that has a mixture of romance, friendship, comedy, horror, action and adventure all in one great series. A must-read!

FY Never Fails to Please

FY 4... the beginning part of this story is a bit confusing, but the end makes up for everything. The story of Nioh-an and Shao-huan sent shivers up my spine, and their dialogue was SO SAD!!! By the way, if you're a Tasuki fan you should like this one. Also, this volume contains ALL of Mitsukake's story in the ENTIRE series. That and the fact that two new celestial warriors are found make this volume an indispensable one in the FY story. Read it! You'll enjoy it. ^_^

Best So Far

Volume 5 was action packed, interesting, moved the plot along well, and was very enjoyable to read. Has been the best in the series so far. Worth every pretty penny.

A fantastic, magical, and very Kawaii story

Fushigi Yugi is a wonderful story. Two Japanese school girls, who happen to be the best of friends, are pulled into ancient china in a book. Miaka Yuki is the Priestess of Suzaku, and very kind and loving. However, Miaka's best friend, Yui, becomes Miaka's rival, the Priestess of Seiryu. Yui becomes rather twisted and evil and is bent on taking revenge on Miaka by stealing away Tamahome. In the 4th volume, Bandit, Miaka needs to find the 3 remaining Celestial warriors of Suzaku so that Tamahome will return to her. But now she finds that this task is much more difficult than she thought. One warrior is a bandit, and, DEAD?!? Miaka travels to find a rumored doctor that can ressurect the dead. But on their way back from finding this doctor, Miaka catches a plague that slowly leaves it's victims to die slow and painfully. Will will Miaka do?

Action packed

Yu Watase packs a lot of story in this volume. Included are the introductions of Tasuki and Mitsukake. There is adventure, horror, romance and plot development.
