Good for George Martin Fans

I was anticipating a storyline similar to the A Song of Fire and Ice series, however this was more like a history lesson on the Targaryens. The character building was not good, and probably due to there being so many characters and too few pages for each. There were 7 Kings represented, and the novel was 700 pages. For me, it was a good read, as I did really enjoy the A Song of Fire and Ice series, however someone looking for descriptive writing for scenarios, environment, etc, I think they will be disappointed. With that being said, I will be passing on any of the other prequel A Song of Ice and Fire books.
