Good enough to "borrow"

I purchased the Essential Songwriter's Rhyming Dictionary for my son, a budding songwriter. It seems to be good enough for his dad, a seasoned songwriter, to borrow pretty consistently. They have both found it useful and are singing its praises!

This is the best book.

I really love this dictionary. It's really useful and this is perfect size to carry around with you in your bag. I'm using this book for song writing and joy!

Very efficient and very simple, easy-to-read.

I recently purchased this book and I found it very helpful in my rhyming abilities. I do a lot of Hip-Hop rhyming, but my vocabulary is limited. So now that I have this, my vocabulary expanded to a new level now. I love it, and I love the first 2 sections where it gives the format of rhyming, the broken rules, the name, places, expression, and clichés. It explains prefixes and suffixes and has a Glossary of Rhyme Schemes (The Basics, The Blues, Limerick, & Triplets). As well as A Brief History of Rhyme and 10 tips for better Lyric Writing. The 3rd section of course is the where all the rhyming words are. The size is really good for when you're out on the road [it's pocket size!]. Highly recommended for any musician/songwriter/lyricist.

One of the best I've seen

This is one of the best rhyming dictionaries around. I love the way it is organized. It also has all kinds of tidbit information in the front of the book that other rhyming dictionaries do not. there maybe larger desk versions of rhyming dictionaries but as far as pocket sizes go this is the best.

Great to stimulate ideas as well as rhyme

Every songwriter who uses rhyme has moments of searching for the right word. This dictionary is perfect: easy to carry, very easy to use, and chock full of good words. I find that looking for the right word can also stimulating song ideas.I've tried other, more technical books, for poets. But I've found this to be at once sufficient and comprehensive for my songwriting.You never can tell,So use it well.
