Preparing for the end.

I had already ordered this book. I don’t remember doing it twice. Now I have 2. Great series.

Another Masterpiece.

I don't have the time to sit and read a novel very often, but do listen to books on audio. I finished this book, 10 CD's (unabridged) in 6 days, just listening to it going back and forth to work and church. I have followed Tim LaHaye's work for some time now. I am an avid follower and fan of the Left Behind Series, the Prequels to Left Behind, and especially the Babylon Rising Series. Though this character does not start out to be as exciting as Michael Murphy, Joshua Jordan becomes a well established character. The story has a lot of what's going on in todays world, quite accurately I might add, and incorporates it very well into the story line. Any evangelical Christian who is paying attention to headlines of the times, as well as major characters in these headlines, knows and understands what is happening. The story has a little bit of Jason Bourne, James Bond, and Michael Murphy all wrapped into a new character that knows what has to be done and knows he's the one who has to do it. The family element is very good as well as the development of other supporting characters. My only disappointment was in some of the espionage aspects may have been drawn out just a bit more. But, that's just my opinion. Overall, this was a great story, with the potential to be another blockbuster series for a great Christian author who has an incredible talent ot spread the love of God and His Son, Jesus. These books, all of LaHaye's works, including those with Jerry Jenkins, have inspired people all over the world, and introduced an otherwise unknowing people to the Gospel of Christ. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the second installment in this series. Thanks Tim.

Edge of Apocalypse

I absolutely love this book. I can actually see this happening in our time right now, even though it is fictionalized in the book. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

Joshua Jordan was a hero taking unbelievable chances with his life for the country he loved. When he retired from field work he became a weapon designer trying to still protect the United States from threats outside and inside the nation. In the Atlantic, a North Korean boat has nuclear missiles aboard. Due to failed communication with his superiors at home, the admiral launches the weapons a Two of the missiles head towards New York City; Jordan has minutes to activate the Return to Sender laser guidance system that sends a missile back to its launch site. The counter operation proves successful, but the media questions the consequences while the White House and Senate demand he turn over the Return to Sender system to Senator Stratworth and his committee. When he refuses to give it to anyone outside of the Pentagon as he fears anyone else will sell it for oil and credit. The President and Congress use the media to go after Joshua. Joshua soon learns he might be a target as Iran, North Korea and Russia as well as allies want the system and will go to any length to get it. Taking place in the near future in which America is short on cash as a new growing dust bowl threatens Midwest agriculture, corruption permeates the government, Joshua and two secret cabals try to bring back the country to what is once was.
