"I wish we'd all been ready"

The song "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" by Larry Norman goes hand in hand with what the author is trying to say in this book. His overall message is clear: prepare for what may lie ahead now. Although he says the same thing over three different ways or so, the book provides a compelling glimpse of what just may wait around the corner - October 1999 or so. Buy this book, read it, and take steps now to be ready. Don't panic - God is in control of all things! "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28Even if you aren't the slightest bit "religious", you should still check out this book. It is very practical for anyone and everyone.

Urgent you buy & read. A Mandatory read to save your family.

I've studied the topic for 2 years..Gene said it all in one book. A MUST READ for anyone trying to understand the huge changes ahead. Marv W.

WOW!!! How absolutely eye opening.

This book is a fightening eye opener and a call to action. I believe this is a very poignant book going into the year of 1999 and a new millenimum. A must read for those carring about the times we reside in and are coming into with Y2K.

a survival guide for Christians as we face the Y2K bug

Economic Doomsday is a run away freight- train barreling down the tracks on a collision course with you, the reader. Talk about impact! Whether you agree with Edwards or not, the book will elicit very strong emotions as you read it. Economic Doomsday is not your run-of-the-mill Y2K fodder. Yes, the book does adress the potentially morose scenario we all may be facing as a result of the Y2K problem. But its focus is on much deeper issues. Edwards has boldly predicted that "with or without the Y2K problem, there will be a worldwide depression, and that history will record that it began in 1999." Mr. Edwards should be awarded a doctorate in organic economics by some university for his truly unique and astute perspective on why this depression must come. Edwards is calling the church, much like the 1st century prophet Agabus did in Acts 11, to prepare for hard times ahead. He offers many practical and perhaps life-saving steps for Christians to take immediately. And this is where the book takes a unique turn. Edwards says the only way for Christians to approach Y2K or the coming depression is by a return to "Christian community" or "church life", something the church forfeited over 1700 years ago. Believe it or not, the highlight for me was the prologue. It is a glorious, Ephesian-like declaration of the grandeur of that woman known as the Church of Jesus Christ. The prologue, alone, is worth the price of the book! If you are panicked after reading this book just go back and re-read the prologue. Also, Edwards' discussion on the return of the primitive marketplace is truly the author's forte. One thing is certain, if you are familiar with Gene Edwards' writings, Economic Doomsday ain't no Divine Romance! And yet, once again, Gene Edwards has dared to sail where few, if any, Christian ministers dare to go. He has done the household of faith a service in addressing what is sure to be a volatile, uncomfortable and divisive topic in the days shortly ahead. "Doomsady" is a must read. My advice: buy several copies, one for your pastor and a few to pass around to people you care about. Just do it soon.

A must have for everyone

You may not be aware of the pending challenges of the comming economic seasons or you may really have a grasp of what's coming down the pike. Either way, this volume will add depth and understanding that will enable you to communicate the matter to others with clarity and a lot of practical direction.
