OK fast-training guide for travellers

This book-and-cassette set is not a bad introduction to Korean conversation. I'm Korean-American and bought this set to improve my conversation skills. The best thing about it is that it gives both the romanization and the Korean spellings for each word and phrase (the Korean alphabet and romanized pronunciations are in the back of the book, for those who don't know it yet). The worst things have to do with the tape-- the people on it never pronounce the words at normal speed, so you get a distorted, slowed-down idea of what they are supposed to sound like. Also, the people on the tape don't wait long enough between phrases for you to repeat them (unless you repeat them twice as fast as they were just said). The content of the set focuses on basic things like greetings, numbers, days of the week, etc., as well as sample conversations in a number of different situations travellers might find themselves in (such as buying something in a store or taking the bus). Overall, for the price, it is pretty okay for travellers who don't have a lot of time to learn Korean, but not enough for someone who wants a working knowledge of Korean (although it wouldn't be a bad start).
