According to Duane Gish, all of the animals were created in the beginning. This includes both dinosaurs and people. On page 15, he makes brief mention of the Paluxy and Glen Rose dinosaur/human footprints, but of course, makes no mention of the scientific analysis of these footprints. Duane Gish also maintained that every animal species sprung up in the fossil record with no ancestral fossils. In this book, he makes such a claim about the triceratops. He makes no mention of the alleged ancestors which were mentioned to him in his public debates. Beginning on page 50, Gish suggests that dinosaurs were dragons. After all, dragons appear in folkore all over the world, so they must be real. (So does the Cinderella legend. Is it true, too?) To argue that dragons can breathe fire, he discusses the explosive chemical emitted by the bombardier beetle. Gish was widely popular among Creationists, partly because of his folksy style. On this score, he disappoints no one in this book. Speaking of the triceratops, on page 20, he says, "He was proabably about 20 feet long and weighed almost 10 tons. Wow! Wouldn't he make a great tackle on somebody's football team!" He ends the book in a warm and cozy first person plural: "What an exciting story these dinosaur fossils tell us! Don't you agree that it is a lot of fun reading and thinking about dinosaurs? are you sad that they are all gone? Maybe we should be glad. Tyrannosaurus! Brrrrrrr!"
