The Pirates of the Caribbean, Now in Manga Format!

Of all the arguable attempts to cash in on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean success, the two very best IMHO were Wayne Thomas Batson's two book series: Isle of Swords and Isle of Fire and this spectacular American manga series. Unfortunately, after Destiny's Hand Vol. 1 and Destiny's Hand Vol. 2 got fans well and truly hooked, Destiny's Hand Vol. 3 was never released except as a digital download: Destiny's Hand Vol. 3 (Kindle Edition)... until now as part of this omnibus edition. Of course something had to be left out; the omnibus edition lacks all of the Special Features included in volume 1: Creators' Bios The Treasure Chest (notes on the Making of Destiny's Hand, including character bios) Tattoo Guide (the meanings of the various characters' tattoos) Omake (Melvin Calingo's tryout pages, showing the earliest incarnaions of the characters) and in volume 2: Omake (a page of Melvin Calingo's self-parodying comics) Ship Guide (layouts of The Kraken, Le Sabre Argente, and Destiny's Hand) As the product description says, Destiny's Hand is a pirate ship that cannot be sunk captained by a dying man who will never give up. The last of the gentlemen pirates, Captain Blaine's final wish is to find the Devil's Eye, a huge legendary gem of untold value and more importantly untold power before those who would misuse its power do so. This involves concealing the extent of his injuries from most of his crew out of doubts they would willingly follow his chosen successor, Olivia Soldana, a brash 16-year-old girl pirate who (thinks she) can outdo any man and obtaining the assistance, willing or otherwise, of Elias Houghton, a scholar of dead languages needed to decipher the clues to the location of the Devil's Eye, who was raised without knowing that Captain Blaine is his real father. It also involves beating all the worse sort, pirates and pirate hunters both, who are also seeking the incredible power that legend says the Devil's Eye offers to its possessor. Simple, right? Well, it's never quite that simple. The resulting wild adventure is wrapped up in this volume, but there is room for further adventures should there be sufficient demand for it.
