Great Read

All 3 stories in this book will keep you turning the pages! Nora Roberts just keeps you hooked!

good selection of reprints

If you like reading Nora Roberts' stories and you like romantic suspense this book is for you. The three stories were written in the eighties and they remind you that Roberts has always been an exceptional writer. The stories were selected to fit the title- 'Dangerous' and in each story the main character is faced with a dangerous situation and a partner of the opposite sex to help solve their mystery. In 'Risky Business' Jonas Sharpe is looking for the person who murdered his twin brother. His only link to the murderer might be Liz Palmer, the dive shop owner and single mother for whom his brother was working at the time of his death. Autumn Gallagher arrives at her Aunts' Inn for a long awaited visit. She discovers that her ex lover, Lucas, who spurned her and broke her heart is staying at the inn with. After Autumn is attacked and one of the guests is murdered the remaining guests band together to solve the mystery. Autumn needs Lucas' help but she wonders why he is here.In 'The Welcoming' Charity Ford owns an inn that is suspiciously caught up in some illegal money laundering schemes. Roman DeWinter is an FBI agent sent to investigate. He quickly decides that Charity is not guilty and that he must protect her while he solves the mystery. But he cannot let her know who he really is and he might be falling in love. The stories are certainly formula plots, but they're well written and an enjoyable read for a dreary winter day.

Terrific Anthology of Three Nora Roberts Classics!

"Dangerous" by Nora Roberts is a Silhouette reprint of three 1980's stories, and it is wonderful! I have been utterly delighted all year by not only Nora's new works, but also her old reprinted works that up until now I haven't been able to find. I hope that Silhouette doesn't stop until ALL of Nora's old works are back in print, because I will buy every one. The theme of this book, danger, works beautifully in tying these three tales together. Each story is unique, exciting, and romantic, and there isn't one I didn't like. "Risky Business" introduces Liz Palmer, who owns a dive shop on the idyllic island of Cozumel in the Mexican Caribbean. When her new employee, Jerry Sharpe, doesn't show up for work one day, Liz soon discovers he had a pretty good reason for it - he's dead. And Jonas Sharpe, Jerry's twin brother, has come to Cozumel to find out who killed his brother and why. Immediately drawn to the lovely Liz, Jonas knows he needs to stay close to her if he's going to solve this mystery. Somebody thinks Liz knows more than she's saying, and Liz knows her life is in danger. So she agrees to work with Jonas to find Jerry's killer, hoping she can get her life back to normal in time for her 10-year-old daughter, Faith, to come home for the summer. But as Jonas and Liz work together, plunging themselves into a very dangerous situation, they fall in love. Their romance is nicely portrayed by Roberts, and readers will find themselves caught up in it. But Liz has been hurt terribly in the past by Faith's father, and her fear of reliving such unbearable pain may just cause her to give up the one man who can make her whole again!"Risky Business" is a fabulous tale of romantic suspense. With characters who readers will root for and a thrilling mystery to solve amidst the romance, this story is sure to captivate and satisfy."Storm Warning" is by far the shortest story out of the three, but Roberts packs a whole lot of excitement and passion into it. Autumn Gallegher has come to her Aunt Tabby's lovely inn in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains for a relaxing family visit. But she never expected to come face to face with the man who brutally broke her heart three years earlier, acclaimed author Lucas McLean. After three years, Autumn's feelings for Lucas haven't changed, and it's impossible to deny the love that still burns brightly in her heart just for him. But all is not well at the Pine View Inn, and on the night of a particularly fierce storm, one of the guests is found murdered. The group staying at the inn is a mixed bunch, and everyone's a suspect. The stress of dealing with Lucas and his strange mood swings, as well as the murder, has Autumn on the edge. And when the evidence begins to indicate that Lucas may be guilty of the murder, Autumn doesn't know whether to believe it, or to trust in the man she loves."Storm Warning" is a fantastically suspenseful tale and Roberts creates a brilliantly tense and chilling atmosphere. As A

2 really good and 1 is ok

This is yet another reprint of Nora Robert's early work. Unlike other reprints form this year (Going Home, Table fot Two, etc...) this collection has some suspense thrown in which may appeal to fans of her later stuff. The writing style is not as polished as the books she turns out these days but the stories are interesting, especially the last two. I never really got into Risky Business. I had to actually force myself to finish. The mystery never interested me,and I didn't see any chemistry between the two main characters. Still, even Nora on a bad day is better than much of the romance you find out there. I liked Storm Warning better. The two main characters had a history together. I think Nora Roberts is especially good at reuniting old lovers. Also, I liked the fact that this one seemed like an old fashioned who-done-it with a lot of romance mixed in. This was my favorite of the three. The final book, The Welcoming, was also an entertaining story. I liked both the main characters. I think fans of Nora Roberts will not be disappointed in this collection, especially if they keep in mind that these are some of her earlier works.

Uniting theme of dangerous works well...

This book contains three of Nora Roberts earlier novels, Risky Business, Storm Warning, and The Welcoming. This book is a REPRINT of the three novels, so be warned if you already own them. The uniting theme is danger, because each of these books contain some sort of mystery, in which there is some sort of danger.Risky Business isn't one of my favorites of the three, but it isn't bad of course. What Nora Roberts romance is? This story is about Liz Palmer who owns Black Coral Dive Shop in Cozumel where she was raising her daughter alone because the childs father didn't want her. She hires a new diving instructor, Jerry Sharpe, but within two weeks of working for her, he turns up dead leading Liz to ask some questions. Jerry's twin brother Jonas shows up asking questions and making trouble for Liz. As each learn about what happened to Jerry, they fall in love, both having to reopen their hearts to the pain of love after failing the first time around. Good story for the most part, but I personally didn't care for Jonas. He seemed a little too detached for me. Storm Warning is the story of Autumn Gallegher and her aunt's inn where she goes to stay. There, she meets up with Lucas, the man she had fallen in love with three years earlier and who had broken her heart horribly. He still seems to care for Autumn, which confuses her a lot, and makes her feelings stronger than ever for him. Meanwhile, one of the guests staying at the inn turns up dead, and everyone is a suspect. Autumn, though she doesn't want to, believes that Lucas might have done it. In between solving the murder, Lucas and Autumn mend their relationship and fall back in love. Good story for the most part, but it wasn't anything super special. It really didn't stick out in my mind too much, though I did like Autumn. The Welcoming was my favorite of the three stories. Charity Ford runs a seaside inn, and one of her new guests is Roman DeWinter. He had come to her inn to expose a criminal organization that was based in her inn. He didn't expect that he would learn to care for Charity, and want something more with her. Charity was a great character, as was Roman. They both fell in love rapidly, and though Roman made a big mistake in not telling Charity the truth, the two were able to work it out for love. Both of these characters had strong convictions, and I thought the "mystery" in this book was the most interesting of the three. All in all, a pretty good selection of books for Nora Roberts fans. Though not some of her best works, I really don't think any fan will be too disappointed in the stories as they are still romantic and filled with love. The only problem is that some of the romance themes seem a little outdated for todays more modern times.
