Zalikas review of an excellent book in the world!

"Creativity" by John Steptoe is an example of how some people are different than others. My favorite part is when Hector and Charles meet for the first time. I think John Steptoe could have made the story better if he could have had Hector speak a language that most people never heard of before because it could have made the story more interesting. I highly recommend this book. -Zalika Jefferson,Third grade scribe at CLAS

Theo's Spectacular creativity book

Creativity by John Steptoe.I think John Steptoe created this story to let everyone know that it is okay to speak different and look different. My favorite part when Hector gave his shirt to Charles. What I think John Steptoe should had change in the story when everyone was laughing at Hector because of his shirt and shoes. I like this book because it helps me to understand that you can exspress yourself. You should buy this awsome book.

Roy's "Creativity" review of a magnifusent book.

"Creativity" by John Steptoe is a great story for children. The story is about this new boy named Hector and he tries to fit in with all the children .So this boy named Charles gives Hector new shoes and Hector gave him a palm shirt. My favorite part in the story of "Creativity" was when the boys in the gym called Hectors shoes float boat.I think John Steptoe could have did beter in the story creativity was make Charles speack more African American Language. But other then that I highley recomend this story.

A wonderful urban story about embracing our similarities.

I love this story! The dialogue is so natural and fun. It answers questions many african americans have wondered about. The main characters are like typical urban kids. I recommend it for all multicultural classes. The illustrations are excellent. It's a fun read for kids, especially those who are deprived of the pleasure of interacting with those of other cultures. Makes a great black history project. Pick it up! You won't be dis-appointed!!
