Ernest Holmes At His Best in Simple Terminology Great for Beginners

Ernest Holmes was great a melding the worlds of science, philosophy, and religion. I love Science of Mind, but the text is very rich and written in early 20th Century language and can be hard to understand unless one is a dedicated student. Creative Mind is SOM with training wheels. It gets right down to business and explains God, the Universe and our relation and interconnectedness to ALL things. Great for those new to SOM and new thought. Less intimidating prior to SOM text book.

Conscious Creation

The question is not whether or not you are creative, the real question is what are you creating? You cannot not be creative. This is the way you were made. Everything that is in your life is there because on some level you manifested those experiences. I know what some of you might be thinking as you look at what is in your life, "Why would I create bad relationships? Why would I create money problems? Why would I create disease and health issues?" For the most part, most of us create our lives out of default. We go through our lives unconsciously aware of what we are manifesting into our experience. Most of us are operating on beliefs that we are not even fully aware of. Most of us have not sat down with ourselves and asked ourselves what we really believe about God, ourselves, our place in the universe, what we are worthy of, what we are deserving of, about money, about relationships, about life in general. It may be difficult to understand that you really do play a major role in your life, but once you accept and embrace and embody the Truth that you can change your life, by changing your ideas about it, you will see how creatively empowered you are and have always been. This classic book written by Ernest Holmes was his first book, I believe. Most of his books are overshadowed by his classic, The Science of Mind text. Which, if you are not versed in Holmes, is not the best book to start off with. Of course, I love it now, but when I first began to study Religious Science and read from that book, I found it pedantic and very cumbersome. I actually think and feel that this rather small book of less than a hundred pages (hardbound edition) should be the Science of Mind text...but that's just my opinion. He writes, "Spirit creates through Law. The Law of Mind is always in action. Mind cannot act unless intelligence sets it in motion. In the great universal mind, man is a center of intelligence, and every time he thinks he sets mind into action..." What he is saying in layman's terms is "What you think is what you create..." A lot of people really do not want to believe this and even if you choose not to believe this, it'll still be working in your life by showing up as something you don't believe. I'm sorry to be a "killjoy" in this review, but you really are responsible for creating your life. The world is in the "mess" it is now because for the most part we have all been "unconscious". We just thought that things happen. Nothing can happen unless we let it. Here is something to think about. Fundamentalist Christians really want you to believe that Armegeddon is approaching. Could it be that we are actually going to have an Armegeddon because enough people believe it will take place? Kind of scary, huh? Could you imagine if we had enough people believing that paradise could take place, or utopia is possible, or we really could learn to coexist peacefully with others? You see, we are always using the same Creative Mind to think with and w

The First Book

Creative Mind was the first book Ernest Holmes wrote. It was published in 1919. But by 1998 when I was Editor of Science of Mind magazine this wonderful little book was out of print and almost impossible to find. We reprinted it with a Forward by Catherine Ponder, an author of many inspiring books and a great fan of Ernest Holmes. Creative Mind is one of my favorite books because it gave me goosebumps when I first opened it and I knew it touched a deep truth within my soul. The first sentence of the introduction is the hook that draws you into your new and exciting possibilities: "The hand of eternal progress is brushing the cobwebs from the corridors of time and is again revealing to the human race the mysteries of being." I love secrets revealed...and this seemed to be the biggest, best secret of all. I do read Creative Mind again and again and I think you will too. Elaine Maginn sonne, Ph.D., Author of 5 books, including Legends of the Stones.

Creative Mind: Tapping the Power Within

I've read (almost) all of Ernest Holmes' books, as well as many other metaphysical books in this nature. This is BY FAR, IN MY OPINION, his best one! Much more dramatic, effective and clear. If I had to pick any one of Ernest's books to be my bible, it would be this one. This is the first book he wrote, and I believe that's why it's so good.

Positive Thinking

A wonderful book on positive thinking in your life.
