You can never go wrong with J.R. Ward

Excellent Book, loved it just as much as I loved the Black Dagger Brotherhood. If you are hesitating to purchase this book don't it is totally awesome. Can't wait for Crave and Lover Unleashed both are already pre-ordered!!!

Good Start to a new series!

I bought this book because I am a big Black Dagger fan, and I enjoyed it. Took longer for me to get into it than her other books but I know the next one will be paced faster. Am looking forward to the next book!! When will it be released JR???

Another winner from JR Ward.

This is what will be the first book in a series. Well, it's great. I am so glad I have discovered this very talented author. What was different about Covet from some of the other books I've read is the fact that the plot was just so good. It really took off in places I did not expect and that's saying something as I usually know many of the twists and turns a book will take. Overall, a great read and if you're not familiar with JR Ward but would like to read something, I believe this is a good one to start with. Also good: Deep Kiss of Winter.

Give it time..

Rarely do first books in a series please anyone... And, I must admit - I made the stupid mistake of taking the bad reviews to heart. I bought the Kindle version a few weeks ago. And, I had the bad reviews in the back of mind, when I started reading. I got to the end of the prologue & put the book in my archive. Seems the bad reviews were right - "no connection" was what I felt. Then, a few days ago, I was bored & decided to try COVET again. Man, am I glad I did... Buy it. Give it more than a few pages. I got to chapter 5 & "Nigel, you are a sod," before it happened. That single line had a wide grin splitting my face. THAT'S the J.R. Ward I have come to know and love... Now - I need to go and see when the next is due.

Great Start Ms Ward !!!

I have read all the BDB books and just finished reading Covet. I then came to this site to read the reviews and decided I needed to add my two cents. Covet was never represented to be like Black Dagger Brotherhood. If Ms Ward wanted to do that than we would have read Lover Mine instead.I took exception to these negative reviewers for that reason The prologue was facinating...Likening life to a football game with the teams being Good and Evil.We meet Jim hard core military who has an accident and is brought to a netherworld where he is given a mandate. He is to defeat evil by saving 7 souls. He will have help and Evil will cheat!!! Simple We meet Adrian and Eddie Fallen Angels that are his team. We meet Vin and then are re-introduced to Marie-Therese (the prostitute from Revs Zero Zum)It is their love story and Vins redemption we follow thru the book and eventually Jims act of selflessness which is another miracle, We glimpse Phury at a drug meeting in the basement of the church and Butch with his Red Socks hat on in a pew at church. And of course Dectective De La Cruz handeling the crime and Trez at the Iron Mask. I give the book 5 stars and like all Ward fans I am waiting for the new BDB Book...But now I will also be waiting for Book 2 of the new Covet series
