This book has everything you need for class. It can get a little heavy on the jargon at times, but that is only a mark of its comprehensiveness. I haven't even used the CD.

Excellent Stats Book

I use this book in doctoral courses I teach in business statistics. Besides its excellent coverage of the basic concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics, its use of spreadsheet technology provides students with a means of solving problems with the aid of their personal computers, both during the course and later in the work place. One of the best Business Statistics books in the market

This is probably one of the best business (read: practitioner oriented) statistics books in the market. While covering a broad range of topics taking the reader from (introductory) descriptive statistics to (rather advanced) inferential statistics (hypothesis testing, etc.), it does so in a manner very easy to understand. This is not to say that you do not have to work your way: this is not a statistics cookbook but a solid reference to the "hows" and "whys" of statistics. Make sure you work along and you'll pretty soon have a very good grasp of the essentials.
