We are all unique.

"Chowder" is the most delightful story of a very unique dog who definitely marches to the beat of his own drummer and finds love and acceptance wherever he goes. A great story especially for children who might not fit the accepted mold of who they think they're supposed to be but it's also great for adults. The artist is spare in his details but the pictures totally capture the character of this bulldog and his family and friends. I recommend "Chowder" for everyone, everywhere. Great book.

Great book for a 3 year old!

I got this book from our local library for my son and he loved it so much that we renewed it three times already. I am going to buy it for my son's book collection. My son is three and a half year old and he could definitely identified with Chowder's activities, such as using the computer, going to market or discovering dinosaur bone (at children museum). The graphics are clean, fresh and uncluttered. Great book for kids.

This book is relate-able for a lot of kids who are trying to fit in and make friends. It's a cute and funny story.

Thinking Outside the Box

Chowder is a book that appeals to all age levels. If you are a dog-lover,this book is for you. If you like books with great humor, this book is for you. I like the way bulldog is portrayed as an individualist. Chowder shows us that being an individual is fun. Thinking outside the box, as Chowder certainly does, brings fun into life. The illustrations are brilliant. Brown's excellent training is certainly evident throughout the book. Chowder is a dog not afraid of being himself. This is a great book for teaching young people about being proud of who you are. Go beyond the surface of the story and dig for some life's lessons in this marvelous book!
