An Enthusiastic Encouragement to Create Your Life...

This book serves me as the mentor I never had and always wanted about life from a Latina standpoint. The author very clearly and analytically relates societal and cultural expectations implied upon women, and how they can precipitate a stressful and unsatisfactory way of life. The author discusses the factors that most commonly influence a woman's thinking, which may be stifling. She then offers ways that one can shift her line of thought relative to creating a sense of proactiveness in her life. The sections addressing relations with men is very provocative reading-it really makes one think. This book can actually be read by women of any cultural background! It is also a fairly easy read. I don't necessarily agree with everything in the book, but I heartily give it my recommendation.
