Texas Book Lover

I believe I enjoyed the Burning Lamp more than the first Book in this series Fired Up. I do not think that it had to be read after Fired Up. In fact I think I would have liked reading it before Fired Up but it is another great book from Amanda Quick and I cannnot wait to read book 3 in the series.

Great read

Middle book of a series but can be read alone. It is up to the author's usual standards, enjoyable well written with humor added to the delight of the reader.

Book is AWESOME!

I really enjoyed reading the 2nd book in this new series by Amanda Quick! I can't wait for it to continue!

Amanda Does It Again

Amanda Quick's second book in her "Dreamlight Trilogy" (a subset of her Arcane Society novels) has proved to be just as enjoyable as her others. With fully developed characters, generous doses of humor, unexpected twists, she once again proves that she is indeed a master at writing an exceptional tale. This time she has gone into the past. She promises that the third book will take us into the future. I can hardly wait.

Absolutely one of her BEST

If like me you did not expect a great deal from the second book in the Dreamlight series, you will be surprised and delighted by this book. I have gotten tired of the "ARCANE" series, however this tale is wonderful I enjoyed the characters and loved the story. It does not have a great many Jones in it. This one has another Winters, Griffin Winters to be exact. I loved the mysteries, {yes, there are more than one,) so many threads run through the story and are gathered up into a surprising end. This is one of the best I have ever read. Adalaide Pyne was sold to a brothel at the age of fifteen, and only unforseen circumstances saved her. Now after several years she is back in London trying to save other young girls from the horror that she escaped. She is a dreamlight reader. If you read FIRED UP, you know that only a dreamlight reader and the Burning Lamp can save a Winters who inherits the gifts of Nicolas Winters the maker of the Lamp and a ancestor of Griffin. Griffin has inherited the powers of Nicolas and his second power has manifested shortly after his 36th birthday. He is desperate to save his life and mind. The hallucinations and nightmares are constantly with him. Finding Adalaide is a miracle but the fact that she has the Lamp is unbelievable. Griffin is one of the most powerful Crime Lords in London. The murder of his family and the theft of the Lamp left him on the streets when he was sixteen. Now twenty years later luck or fate has placed these two on the stage where they need each other. The secrets are many and are revealed slowly, as with all the author's novels they somehow lead from one to the another and another. This one had so many things that I had not even concieved of. She totally blew my mind with a few of them. If you can't tell, I loved it!!
