Extremely helpful!

I'm actually shocked at the the negative reviews. I found this book to be wonderfully helpful, after buying a number of GRE prep books by Kaplan and such that were more about learning process of elimination than about learning math. If you work through the book sequentially you actually learn math in a way that sticks. Furthermore, the language is clear, relatable, and not simply 'here's a formula, plug in some numbers.' This is not your classic textbook. It is written somewhat conversationally and pushes you to make some inferences. I think if you give it a chance this book is an indispensable and clear guide to GRE math, topic by topic. After I took the GRE I threw most of my prep books away but this one I kept around as a handy math refresher.

I liked it, a lot!

I'm suprised to see the three negative reviews. It took me two years to get around to studying for the GRE and when I finally did I was greatful that this was what I purchased. It is written very informally. It does not intimidate; it doesn't make the math painful. I would especially recommend this book to people who do not like math, specifically because it is somewhat fun to read. I went through this book in two weeks and then completed the Kaplan workbook for math Kaplan GRE Exam Math Workbook. I was very happy that I had not completed the Kaplan first as it is just brute math and the lessons seem as if they are written for a machine more so than a person. I scored a 740.
