Bloodline

I love Maggie Shayne's books she had a totally different take on Vamp's long before Twilight.....

Great Fiction, Great Ending, Not Great for Romance

Doesnt have alot of the romance stuff in this series but for a fictional story this is cute! It doesnt follow suit with the first 3 book in the series but that is actually a good thing because after the 3rd book in this series you are ready for them to do something different.

Another great story

I've been reading Maggie Shayne's Vampire novels for some time now and I found this one to be as interesting and fun as all the rest. Her characters are always engaging and the story was interesting. Can't wait for the next one.

superb romantic fantasy thriller

When Lilith awakens, she feels confused as to where she is, how she got there, and why she is nude. Although it is cold at dusk, she feels no discomfort except for her emotional bewilderment. Somehow she knows to walk to Ethan's nearby ranch though she has no idea why that feels right or how she knows the property is near. Ethan, who was falling in love with her when they were prisoners, informs Lilith that she like him is a vampire trained by the top secret CIA Division of Paranormal Investigations as a killing operative. Also like him, she escaped from the Farm, the DPI's top-secret facility. DPI brass wants both brought in from the cold while Lilith feels an obsessive need to free others from the Farm. This is a superb romantic fantasy thriller starring two likable legendary escapees struggling to survive as anyone who kills either of them becomes an instant legend and anyone who brings one of them in from the cold to the CIA owns the "farm". The story line is fast-paced, but driven by the lead couple who knows the danger they confront especially if they try to assault the Farm. Maggie Shayne's fans will relish this fun fantasy thriller as Lilith and Ethan fall in love while taking the fight to the DPI. Harriet Klausner

Good but not perfect

One of my favorite authors. This book was pretty good, a bit more predictable than some but there was one huge unanswered question that distracted me. Where did the vampire Ethan get the money for his farm and horses??? In two years? How could he work with no ID? At a night job? Steal the money? One or two sentences could have answered it. Did I miss the sentences? Lilith was the strong character who wants to go charging in, Ethan is more cautious and wants to plan things. She is too impulsive and takes off while he is still planning, then he has to catch up and try to save her. They should be fine when they grow up a bit. Maybe we will see them popping up in future books?
