A must read

I loved it. Lora leigh writes every book with so much passion and erotic romance. " Wild Card" is my favorite but Black Jack is one of my all time favorites.

Classic Lora Leigh

The Elite Ops series continues with Lilly, a member of Elite Two, the all-women counterpart to the Elite Ops. Lilly is the sniper for this team, having been part of team for six years, ever since the day of her "death". She has worked closely with Travis, or Black Jack, of the Elite Ops team and they have been fighting an attraction for years. After spending one hot night together, Lilly returns to work, dodging a bullet to the head, but developing amnesia from her injuries. She does not remember the past six years. The Elite Ops decide to send her back to her family, using the amnesia as a method to gain her entrance back to her old life. But, someone wanted her dead and the Elite Ops do not believe the assassin will stop. Can Travis and the Elite Ops protect Lilly from the unknown threat? Can Lilly come to terms with the lost six years of her, even though she has flashes of her past? Does Lilly remember Travis and their earth-shattering night together? I loved Black Jack, reading the book in one day. From the prologue, I was entranced and I couldn't put the story down. Although Travis is the standard alpha male character, Lilly is extremely interesting. She remembers her past life as an English Lady, but she doesn't understand the fighting instincts, the alpha female traits. When she meets Travis again, their love affair begins anew. The characters are superb as well as the plot. The mysterious killer and complicated pasts of the characters adds depth to the story, propelling the plot forward. Although the mysterious killer isn't so mysterious, the story is still excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. Black Jack is Lora Leigh at her best. If you have not read other installments in the Elite Ops or Navy SEALs series, don't fret. Black Jack does not reveal too much of previous books nor are the stories necessary to the plot of this book. I highly recommend picking this one up. BookingIt Grade: A

Amazingly Wonderful!

First off, I would like to state that I was expecting this book to be like the rest of Lora's books. I expected the uber-alpha hero who made decisions and lied to his significant other when he thought it was "right" or "too dangerous" or any of the other stupid reasons Lora has given. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Travis is an uber-alpha hero, BUT, he doesn't make decisions for Lily. He lets her make her own choices and supports them. Yes, they argue about the decisions, but in the end, he respects her decision. Also, Travis never lies to Lily. Through out the entire book, he did his level best to not directly lie to her. Lily was a strong heroine. She went with her insticts in regard to Travis. She knew something was off and yes, she did have trust issues, but she dealt with them. The only problem I have with this book is with Travis's new identity. I was getting confused as to how he is able to re-enter society when he is said to have "died". I realized later on that he most likely got plastic surgery like Lily did. I wish Lora would have made that clear in the beginning of the book. All in all, I enjoyed the book much more than any others in her Elite Ops series. The hero was kind and patient and truly loved the heroine, a strong character in her own right. He never made decisions for her without talking to her about it and if he did do something w/o her knowledge, she usually knew about it the minute it was over (party scene).

5 Blue Ribbons from Romance Junkies!

Lilli Belle, codename Night Hawk, is a woman dead - her former life is no more. The only person who can save her is a dead man named Travis Caine, otherwise known as BLACK JACK. Lilli and Travis are on the hunt to find a killer - Lilli has already been harmed, and it seems the person responsible has not given up. Now time is definitely not on their side but love is - who will be the ultimate winner? Lilli Belle, better known in the Elite Ops as Night Hawk, has come to a seedy bar in order to give operative Travis Caine, aka BLACK JACK, a coded disk he needs. She doesn't plan on staying in town all that long. But when their eyes meet across the bar, warmth instantly invades her body and she can't stop thinking about what it would be like to be in his arms. One wild motorcycle ride later, Lilli is in the arms of the man she is unable to stop thinking about. Lilli and Travis spend a few hours together until it is time for Lilli to return to her home base. Unfortunately, her cover has been blown, and the shot Lilli takes to the head interferes with her memory. In fact, she has no memory of the last six years of her life. Suddenly, Night Hawk has become an Elite Ops liability, and the only person who believes in her is the one man her body knows but her mind doesn't - Travis Caine. BLACK JACK is intensely edgy and full of intrigue, half truths, and lies meant to damage not only Night Hawk but Travis Caine as well. The life that Lilli returns to after recovering is not a life she remembers but one she has to accept. Suddenly feeling as if another person has invaded her body, Lilli turns to the one man she trusts. With Travis by her side, Lilli uncovers a murderous plot and finally understands the truth about the death she witnessed years ago. The tone of BLACK JACK is somewhat dark, but the erotic encounters between Lilli and Travis are like a bright beacon shining on their relationship. Not willing to give up on Lilli, Travis becomes the lover I always knew he would be. He was aggressive with his enemies but tender with the woman he loved. New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh continues her writing winning streak with this highly suspenseful erotic romance. With powerfully written fight scenes, stimulating love scenes, and a surprise ending, BLACK JACK will worm its way into your heart. Last one in line to buy it is a rotten egg! Natalie S.
