great first reader book

I bought this book based on the reviews and I'm so glad I did! My 4y/o enjoys reading this book to himself or to me and likes the part where the brown bear turns blue the best. Another review mentioned an easy read for children with some experience. I concur. But even if your child isn't reading on his/her own yet, it's still a cute story to read aloud.

brown bear is now blue

Big Brown Bear climbs up the ladder to do some painting. Down below Little Bear is busy playing. An accident happens when the ball hits Big Brown Bear and he falls down. So does the paint! Now Brown Bear is no longer brown. Now he's covered in blue paint! The book was quick and easy to read. Young readers will enjoy the cute illustrations. The text is written in English as well as Spanish. I would recommend this book to kids 5-8. It is part of the "Green Light Reader" series.

Cute Reader with A Funny Story - a review of "Big Brown Bear"

Big Brown Bear is getting ready for something, but what? He has a can of blue paint and a ladder and he is going somewhere, but where? Oh, he is going to paint his little bear's tree house, but watch out! Paint goes everywhere in this silly story where little bear seems to have a penchant for surprising Big Brown Bear at the wrong moment. And my son (just turned four) thinks it is hysterical. Four Stars. Excellent artwork. Fun story as judged by one boy and one girl - 4 and almost 6 respectively. Text is just right for beginning readers with a little experience under their belts. An example of text follows so you can judge for yourself. Bear gets paint. The paint is blue. Bear goes up. The paint goes, too. Little Bear is playing. She has a bat. Oh no! Little Bear! Do not do that!

Big Brown Bear (Green Light Readers)

This is a great beginning book. Ny first grader really enjoyed it. He was able to manage most of the words in the book, yet it was not too easy. He thought it was funny and enjoyed predicting what the bear would do next. He summed it up at the end by saying "this book was really cool!"
