Book Overview

It can seem as though today's culture encourages weakness, not strength. And this attitude has crept into the church: Don't take a strong position of faith. Don't take a strong view of evangelism.... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Excellent Study Guide Book

This is an excellent book to help in the study of the old testament Bible book of Joshua. The author points out many similarities to events happening today in the church. In this study book of Joshua, you will learn that God wants us to seek Him/His face everyday for the guidance/direction in our lives.

Good enough to give to a friend

I had a copy and wanted to send a copy to a family member. This is a thought provoking book-

a strong book

long i had searched for a study on the book of joshua (out of personal reasons), and so my heart leaped as i saw it in a bookshop. i immediately bought it. it was worth every €. what i like on the book: * on the whole: sound doctrine, balanced and biblical * pulls information on the person joshua out of the biblical text and context * describes the parrallels between the entering of the promised land for the israelites back then, and in our days through jesus christ. (joshua-jeshua) * it renders clear how a personal walk with god can get boosted through radically submitting every area of life to our maker. * brief and contentful, not a scholars review, everyone can read it. seems to be written by someone who knows what is worth mentioning dislikes: * at times a bit too war-promoting ? there is definitely a time/place/setting for reading books on discipleship, peace and love, but also a time for such a book. especially in our occidental 21st century culture and its "christianity" * a few repetitions ( on special details that the author emphasizes) which are not really a minus but help to remember things worth being remembered. on the whole i am really thankful that wiersbe took a lot of work off my back, for i would have studied the book of joshua on myself deeper otherwise, but now he already pointed to some very interesting details, i feel much more at ease now, feeling like i understand the purpose of this book of the bible, and also now everytime i read the study bible notes in the book of joshua i somehow have the feeling of knowing more than the bible comment :) great book.
