I really enjoyed this book and would love to keep reading the series.

Series gets better and better

This series gets better and better, each book reveals more of the Breed and each is a hot sensual romance. I look forward to every one and I pre-order if I can. Andreas Reichen is the leader of a Darkhaven in Germany. He was instrumental to Tegen and Elise in MIDNIGHT AWAKENING, which is still one of my favorites in the series, however this one is a close second. He returns from a mission for the Order to find his home and family destroyed. This sets loose his own secret devils and sets him on a road to vengence against the man who killed his people. He is the same man who possesses the one woman Andre has ever loved. Nothing will be allowed to interfere with his revenge. Claire Roth fell in love with Andre thirty years ago and when he deserted her she turned to a man she thought to be a friend and became his mate. It was a cold relationship from the start and both have seperate homes. Only occasionally do they get togather when he needs to feed. Claire has devoted herself to good deeds and tried to forget the man who showed her the passions life could bring. As Andre takes out the killers of his family from the least to the next to last he is set on a straight road. Then he destroys Roth's Darkhaven and finally heads for his home to destroy him. Little does he know that Claire is the only one at the home. When he finally has destroyed her keepers he faces Claire and all the feelings he had and still has for her reach deep into his darkness and pull him toward the light. As he convinces her of her mate's evil he will try to protect her and get her help from the Order. But once again Roth has escaped, for he is in the States doing the business of his leader, Dragos. Claire and Andre are spirited to the states by the order, and Claire can sense through the bond that Roth is there to. She is determined that Andre and Roth will not meet for she fears for Andre's life. The twists and turns are staggering, the plots well interwoven and they further the story of Dragos and the Ancient. I found it mesmerizing and could not put it down. One of the best paranormal romances this spring. Do not miss it. All of our favorite characters are here and I will pre-order the next one as soon as possible. Good Reading.

Great Balls of Fire!

When last we heard about Andreas Reichen, he had unleashed a fireball on his decimated home and disappeared. In Ashes of Midnight he makes his comeback in a BIG way. By the first chapter Lara Adrian lets us know that the once carefree rogue is gone, and in his place is a merciless killer intent on revenge. He is determined to exact his fiery brand of justice on anyone who aligned themselves with the Darkhaven leader, Wilhelm Roth, and while lost within the destructive force of his pyrokinesis he sees Claire Roth as just another enemy. Andre hid a world of pain beneath his roguish charm and at it's core was Claire Samuels. They had a brief but passionate affair that ended when he abruptly disappeared one day. Claire thought he had abandoned her after they had a falling out, but what really happened was that he was trying to come to grips with the fact that his previously untapped vampiric gift had emerged with devastating results. He doesn't want to inadvertently hurt her so he stays away. Until events lead to him stalking her in the woods, chasing her down with fireballs. He unleashes a firestorm on Claire's security escort and sends her running for her life. When his rage cools, Andreas realizes that not only did Claire see him as the destructive monster he never wanted her to witness, he nearly killed her. Shame, guilt and anger eat at him, as does the Bloodlust. Every time he unleashes the fire his body demands blood, and in a fit of desire and anger he drinks from her. In one instant he has connected himself to her for all time, and in that moment he revels in it. Until he remembers that Claire is Breedmate to Wilhelm Roth and is bound to him by blood and vow. Now both of them are on the run from the far-reaching tentacles of the not-so-honorable European Enforcement Agency and they head to Boston for aid. With Claire's dreamwalking ability and Andre's pyro, they are of big use to the Order, especially when Claire is able to sneak a peek at what her Breedmate is up to. Dragos is stepping up his plans for world domination and with Wilhelm Roth at his side they plan a big surprise for the warriors. A surprise that Andreas doesn't mean to survive. This battleworn vampire doesn't know how long he can contain the firestorm that rages within him and it's only with the aid of Claire that he has a hope of controlling the fire before it tips him over the edge. Veil of Midnight came really close to boring me to tears and it's only saving grace was Andreas Reichen's story. The first moment he graced the pages in the Midnight Breeds series he grabbed my attention and I just knew he would be a bad boy of astronomical levels. Lara Adrian doesn't disappoint in Ashes of Midnight and she does a fabulous job of creating an extremely exciting and passionate story. She's finally shown me how well she can craft a tale and in my humble opinion I really feel she escaped from beneath J.R. Ward's shadow with this addition to the Midnight Breeds series. There

I COULD NOT READ THIS BOOK FAST ENOUGH EACH PAGE IS FULL OF ANDREAS REICHEN'S EXPLOSIVE NEED FOR REVENGE AGAINST WHILHELM ROTH WHO HAS MURDERED EVERYONE IN ANDREAS DARKHAVEN VILLAGE.THE PAGES ARE FULL OF HIS ALL CONSUMING RAGE WHICH HAS THE READER TENSE AND ON EDGE BECAUSE THEY WANT HIM TO GET THAT REVENGE. CLAIR ROTH WAS AT ONE TIME VERY MUCH IN LOVE WITH ANDREAS, BUT HE LEFT HER AND SHE MATED WITH WILHELM THE ENEMY NOT KNOWING HIS EVIL WAYS AND HIS INVOLMENT WITH THE EVIL DRAGOS. ANDREAS TAKES CLAIR CAPTIVE SHE BEGINS TO TRUST HIM AND HELP HIM BECAUSE HER LOVE FOR HIM HAS NEVER DIED AND HIS FOR HER IS JUST AS STRONG. HOLD ON TO YOUR BOOK BECAUSE THEIR ROMANCE IS HOT SINFULLY SENSUAL EROCTIC GENTLE PASSIONATE AND CARING THESE TWO REALLY LOVE EACH OTHER AND YOU CAN FEEL THEIR LOVE AS YOU READ. THE READER WILL GET A CHANCE TO VISIT ALL OF THE PRIOR CHARACTERS IN LARA ADRIANS BOOK. ASHES AT MIDNIGHT IS EXTREMLY WELL WRITTEN AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN. I MUST ADMIT I HAVE RATED ADRIANS LAST TWO BOOKS 3 STARS BUT THIS ONE DESERVES 10 STARS!!!! LARA ADRIAN HAS MADE ONE HELL OF A COME BACK, SHE LISTENS TO HER READERS AND GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT!!!! Blood, fire, fate

Lara Adrian has given us another amazing novel of the Order and the Breeds and Breedmates who live to protect our world. This novel is about Andre (such a cute nickname) and Claire. The last we heard of him he had found his entire estate and all of his family dead by a Breed named Roth who is high in society and the Enforcement Agency. Needless to say this book is about vengeance and revenge. Andre's agony is so bitter that his rage consumes him and physically manifests itself into his pyrokinetics. He's so focused on avenging his family that his old lover Claire doesn't stand a chance. Andre is definitely not the man Claire had fallen in love with three decades past, he's angry, bitter and is filled with white hot rage. Claire has always realized that Roth doesn't love her and sees her as an accessory, as one might a purse or ring. She had thought Andre had left her and now being thrust back together seems to put the two on edge. Dragos is breeding new Gen One assassins faster than the Order can recruit (it's already stretched so thin with Conlan's death) and he also has a plan to destroy the Order as he moves his breeding lab to 'higher grounds.' This is another great story not just about the 'paranormal romance' but about war, fighting, guns, fire and yes the all consuming fate tying love. Andre is beautiful and broken, Claire is hurt but stubborn. All the Order's warriors are still deadly and and still so imperfectly perfect for each of their breedmates. Loyal fans will love this new book and newbies... go read Kiss of Midnight, I promise this author opens a wonderful new world that will have you looking over every inch of your skin for the tell tale mark of a breedmate!
