Great characters. Very entertaining!

Wonderful characters and great dialogue. Although the plot disintegrated somewhat at the end this was a good read and definitely a keeper. This is a particularly good series but this book might be my favorite.

Perfectly wonderful!

I adored every page of this book! Karen Hawkins has a real winner here. From the very first sentence, I was drawn into the story and the characters.Greyley is marvelously arrogant and "growly" while Sara is a nearly perfect heroine--strong, determined, fiery, and witty. They sizzle every moment they are together. Secondary characters are generally well-drawn and engaging as well. The plot moves along swiftly, with Hawkins' writing keeping the reader's attention throughout. I was very slightly disappointed in the second and pivotal love scene, expecting it to be somehow "more," but by the end of that section, it no longer mattered. And even though I would have liked a bit more about this terrific couple in the epilogue, the story was utterly satisfying. The flaws are so minor as to hardly be worth mentioning. The romantic leads are engaging, the story entertaining, and the end result delightful."An Affair to Remember" is one of the best books I've read. I can't wait to pick up another Karen Hawkins' novel.

Loved it!!

IT was great to see Anna and Anthony get together after seeing how much heat there was between them in The Seduction of Sara. Enjoyed it a lot.

What's a girl to do?

Well, I have finally found another authoress worth her weight in gold! This is simply an exquisite romance novel; full of humour, wit, sex, and independent, intelligent women!!!!!I first met Anthony and Anna in 'the seduciton of sara' (Anthony's sister and Anna's best friend) and found them both amusing then ..... but Hawkins out does herself in this one! Anthony Elliot, the Earl of Greyley, 'pits' his wits against his(unconventional) governess, Anna Thraxton (one of 'the thraxtons'): all I will say is that Anna thinks Anthony could do with 'taking down a peg or two' and she just knows she's the one who can do it! ..... the most amusing, simply excellent storyline and romance is the result of Anna's scheme and I'm telling you now, you will not have read a story this good in a looooooooooooooooong while! I really love the St Johns men and think that Hawkins imagination and unique storylines get better and better with every story I read!If you want something that is unique, entertaining, and a joy to read: then this is your one stop shop! I give this one a 5++.

The very best!!!

To be honest, there hasn't been many quality historical romance books on the market for a long time. Ms. Lauren's cynster series has dragged on and on, and has become rather cliche and formulated indeed. Ms. Dodd's governess series drags on with the same spy and governess plot, although the last "My favourite Bride", hadn't been too bad. Ms. Garwood is still trying her hand out at writing contemparies and I'm still eagerly awaiting her next historical romance on highland lords and such, where her talent really lies. And Ms. Ennoch has seem to lost the witty and enthralling talent at writing since "Reforming a Rake", or perhaps it is the plot. "An Affair to Remember" however,is indeed something to be remembered. This is the best quality book on the market since Julia Quinn's last book! (And i have very high expectations for "Further Observations of Lady Whistledown") If one is a historical romance fan, one simply MUST read this latest from Karen Hawkins. It is even better then "The seduction of Sara" and one has high expectations indeed on Ms. Hawkin's next book on Brand St John.

She just keeps getting better and better!

I loved the relationship between Anna and Anthony. The five children made the story lively and funny. You could feel Anthony's frustration every time he and the children were together. Karen's books just keep getting better and better. I am looking forward to the next one.
