Surprisingly Interesting and Well-Written!

This is a very clear and easy to understand look at America's welfare system. I read this book for a university course and was surprised to find that I actually really enjoyed reading it! Insightful and just a good book. Highly recommend.

A complete and comprehensive history

Edward Berkowitz is one of the country's best authorities on this suject, and this book only shows why. He writes in a clear, easy to read style that can be enjoyed by everyone. There are certainly other books on this subject out there, but this one is the best.
