Impossible to put down; great for fans of Michael Crichton

Wow! This one was really hard to put down! At first, I was a bit confused by the descriptions of the main male character Jack, because his history didn't quite match up with the Jack who appears in Deep Fathom and the occasional Sigma novel, but once it was clear that this was a different character, that confusion was cleared up and I was able to really get into the book. I really like Lorna and all the other characters, the plot was really exciting, and I'm pretty sure that, of all the James Rollins novels I've read, this one kept me up reading the latest into the night.

CAUTION for Kindle Users!!

This isn't so much a review as a word of warning to Kindle owners who download this book. When I downloaded and chose this book from my list, it opened to ACT 1, which appeared to be the beginning of the book. Unfortunately, a key part of the book is placed BEFORE the table of contents, meaning Kindle users have to KNOW it's there and page back through the table of contents. I only realized this after reading the teasers and seemed to be missing something. Hope this helps someone else out there!! (Oh...and I LOVED this book!)

Escapist Fiction at its Finest

Seven years after the fall of Baghdad, a deep secret held under the Baghdad zoo makes itself known on a barrier island near the swamps of Louisiana. What's discovered is a shipwrecked trawler containing a caged group of what appear to be exotic animals. But what's discovered is each animal has a somewhat severe genetic abnormality and the crew itself is missing. What I expect and always get from James Rollins is Escapist fiction at its finest. His scientific thrillers never let up. It's a little Jurrasic Park. It's a little 007. It's all James Rollins. Well researched, well written, and A-one entertainment.
