Adrift!

This is an excellent book about five very different girls who all are sent on a sailing trip in the Caribbean. When a sudden storm swells up, they and their instructor become stranded on a deserted island where they must learn to fend for themselves while waiting to be rescued.Watching these personalities grow to accommodate each other from their initial despisal is a treat. They must all work together now to survive. There are lessons that can be learned by readers about how to get along with others despite our differences. The book is written on a nice level for fifth graders and above. Why 5 stars?:This is an excellent book to show girls how they can get along even with all of their differences. Not only the struggle of the personalities, but also that of survival captivate the reader. The text is appropriate for about fifth graders and above.

A fun book

Six girls are going on a sailing vaction. They all have different reasons for going, and all have very different attitudes. An storm strands them all on a deserted island. They must cope with nature and their own tempers and arguments. A fun book.

An awesome book!

I love the book "Lost girls, adrift!"It was an awesome book and I enjoyed it very much. It is about 6 girls who get shipwrecked on a deserted island. At first there are lots of differences amongst them, but they work together to try and get off the island. I am frantically searching for the second book to know what happens!

A great book for all girls who love sailing

I loved this book because it was so exciting. It tells you about the lives of five young girls and their 17 year old skipper on a week long journey, sailing around the Abacos Islands. I recommend this book for girls from the age of 8 to 14. I was quite dissapointed at the end of the book because it didn't really end, there is a sequal. I am looking forward to reading the sequal. The only problem is that these two books are no longer being printed.

A wonderful book that stuck with me.

I loved this book when I read it many years ago. The story was very engaging, and I loved the character interactions, especially Shawn's. This book was given to me when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, maybe earlier, and I thought being shipwrecked the way they were was such an adventure. It was also a very informative book in it's discussions of native fruits, pronounciations, and general life information. A great book for girls of all ages.
