A flight of pure fantasy

A truly spellbinding book. Yolen has out done herself with her Pit Dragon series. The last book was captivating and your hands will refuse to let you set the book down. The story of Akki and Jakkin continues, along with 5 not so little versions of the beloved Heart's Blood. This is a book for any true Yolen fan and dragon lover! Symbolism and wisdom underlay the breath taking plot which Yolen has written. I personally suggest this to anyone who has a love for fantasy novels, ages young or old.

!!

This book is incredible. It was amazing! with Jakkin and Akki attempting to escape from the bloody metal-makers of the mountains. While trying to save some dragons from meeting a bloody and sad death. I just wish that there was a fourth book to follow it up. It seems like you're left hanging there with no real ending and wishing you knew what would happen next.

Gotta read it!!!!!

Jane Yolens Sending of Dragons was incredible. Jakkin and Akki are stuck in the damp tunnels of a huge cave. They stumble across cave people bloodier than the cell wardens. They have to find a way out before the cave people can catch them. You've GOTTA READ IT!!!!!!

A Fitting End to the Pit Dragon Trilogy

I love this trilogy! I highly recommend A Sending of Dragons #3, Dragon's Blood #1, and Heart's Blood #2. This one, #3, is about Jakkin's and Akki's adventures in the wild of their dragon-inhibited world. After spending the Dark-After in Heart's Blood, Jakkin's dead dragon who was killed protecting Jakkin and Akki, Jakkin and Akki can see with the eyes of dragons and spend the Dark-After outside without freezing. But when they run underground hiding from patrol men, Jakkin and Akki find that some ancient stone-age people know the same secret -- and these barbaric people kill female dragons on purpose for just this reason. Then they let their children sleep in the dragons womb with her eggs. Jakkin and Akki don't know what to do. Heart's Bloods young dragons are trying to help Jakkin and Akki, but they must stay outside the caves or they could be slaughtered, too. And now, Jakkin has found a beautiful red dragon who could be Heart's Blood sisters, her mind patterns and looks are the same. What can Jakkin and Akki do to help the endangered dragons -- and save themselves from becoming like these emotionless people?

Really intrigued, about Yolen's Worms. Another book?

My name is Robert C. Shields Jr. RKSHIELDS@worldnet.att.net. I am curious to know if Jane Yolen wrote anymore in her Pit Dragons trilogy/series? I really liked this book. I am intrigued by Ms. Yolen's interpretation of dragons, on Austar IV. I hope that she wrote more.
