Inspiration for traditional applique

This book provides great color inspriation from antique applique quilts and full size patterns.It is easy to follow and good for a begining applique quilter because the patterns included are full sized,easily traced onto template plastic, and not overly complex in design. Many of the designs have larger pieces with gentle curves,which make easily to needle turn designs.Black and white quilt diagrams included give the quilter layout ideas. I enlarge these and used color pencils to try out color combinations. Anyone interested in traditional applique should add this to their library.

A vintage floral applique'rs DELIGHT! Full of Inspiration

Subject=FLORAL QUILTS,mostly all Aq, I LOVE This bk. So many Baltimore Album quilt type designs,vintage to several periods actually. These complete a whole area which I work within as far as floral blocks and designs with which to mix and match to give a huge variety to work with. Over 50 pieced & applique floral quilt designs! Each has history and information from the maker/designer with excellently written directions and of course templates due to applique and in the pieced blocks since Rotary cutters were not used yet, templates were the way you made blocks!! Of course these templates can be measured and changed into rotary and strip pieced designs for the most part, unless real odd shaped or wacky 16th measurements, which I have not analyzed them for! Most important to me of course are the full size applique motifs, ready to copy/trace and use! Great book giving me tons of inspiration, I will never be lacking for an idea until I have made every quilt in this book, in every color and block combinatino.
