best love story ever!

best love story ever! I have read and re-read this book through the years. I bought copies for everyone in my family. I remember my daughters and niece reading my copy and when they were very young, they were children and up to this day we talk about Erick Moro :) made a huge impact in our lives and about death. Love this book I have several copies but the most cherished is the original paperback that I have kept for about 15 years!!

MY FAVOURITE BOOK EVER!

They say never judge a book by it's cover. But that is precisely what I did with A Crack in Forever. At 20 years old whilst in the bookstore randomly one day I picked up this book because I thought the cover was pretty. I read the first chapter standing in the store and left intrigued. A week or so later I was in the bookstore again with my Dad and showed it to him. When we walked out, he handed me a package and said 'suprise'. It was the book. I think I read the book in the next couple of days - I found it very hard to put down. I lay on my bed and the tears streamed effortlessly down my face. I have never cried so much whilst reading a book either before or since. Upon finishing the book, I went to help my Mum with dinner. I was still sobbing and she was most concerned. I have lent this book to many friends and recommended it to countless others. Each of them have experienced the same love for the characters and the gut-wrenching pain at the end. I only wish Jeannie Brewer would write more. I have searched for more of her works for the past 8 years only to find that she has written nothing else. arrrggghhh! A truly beautifully written book. It felt so real.

Read this book and you'll never have unprotected Sex again!!

This book was soo moving, I cried so hard! It is a wonderful Love-Story ,plus you can totally feel with the characters.I felt so desperate towards the end of the book,'cause Eric's death is described so exactly, you feel involved with AIDS after reading the book. What made me identify myself with the characters was that the book isn't about gays,or drug users(not directly),or any other typical social group, but about two young people like most of us are.I realized that it can happen to anyone, and I wouldn't take any risk. It's definitely an incredibly good book, and everyone who's dealing with Love & Sex (I think all of us do)should read this book.

Wonderful and touching - idealized, but still gripping

I agree with several of the opther reviews listed here that the characters are not particularly deep. And Eric is truly too perfect to be true. But their love is compelling because it is the love we all wish we felt in our lives (many of us have it, if we would just let it in more...). As their dreams are coming true the ultimate destructor arrives - death looming in the form of AIDS. I did cry at the end of this, not just for the characters, but for the people who have loved and lost so much to this disease, who have felt hopelessness and bravery. I thought the minor characters, such as the people in the AIDS Survivors support group were occasionally more interesting than our main characters. They were simple, yet real. The journey of letting someone go is compeling in and of itself. I hope that more books deal with the ravages of this horrid disease so that we learn from each other's experiences.

Incredible love story!

This is the best love story I've ever read. I cried so hard , I had to reread the last 30 pages because tears blocked my view. This book made me appreciate that my love is healthy and we're not facing something like this. It also made me think about if I'd be strong enough to handle losing my love to illness. I fell in love with the characters, felt their heart ache and felt their love. This book was so moving, I bought a copy for my friend (something I never do-usually I just let people borrow my copy). Absolutely a must read
