very nicely detailed and great explanations. 25 review questions after every chapter and a great glossary. also, very organized

Great, not Awesomely Awesome

The book helped. A lot! My teacher was pretty bad, so this book helped fill in the gaps. I got a 4 on the exam. I did all the review in the book and sample questions and blah blah. Just consider this book as well amongst the other big name companies. The book is good, great even, it will not TEACH you the concepts, only refresh them. In other words, pay attention in your chem class and bring this book with you from Day 1. It'll help you understand and show how things are related (if your text book goes out of order, like mine). Enjoy.

Awesome

My brother used this book and received a 5 on his exam. Obviously he worked hard during the year, but he said the comprehensive review was extremely effective and instrumental in his getting the 5.

Great book, underrated series

To bluefox2003:A lot of students, myself included, find the Barron's a bit too technical and dry. I went to the bookstore and saw 5 Steps to a 5, not expecting much, but it turned out to be, for me at least, the most clear, concise, interesting, yet still complete and full review of AP Chem. It reads like a friend explaining the ideas to you. Not a dumb friend, either, but one who is interested in AP Chem, talking to someone who is interested in AP Chem. If you think that the problems are too easy, it might be because they are, in fact, supposed to be that easy when they are explained well. Just my two cents.

This book is great and my high school students love it.

The type in the book is easy to read and the examples are easy to follow. A couple of my students started using it last week and they say it explains things better than their textbook does.
