Stage Fright

Stage Fright comes out strong, setting a very powerful and perfect tone to a great story. This series really is great for fans of Barbara Park's snarky Junie B. Jones. It's the same brand of humor, and fans who may have outgrown Junie and are looking for something new to read will definitely find the same type of honest outlook on the world from Allie. Cabot is really good at keeping up with current pop culture and putting in age appropriate references, which would make the books all the more appealing with her target audience. This book is not only adorable and kid-friendly, it also contains simple environmentally-friendly facts for them to learn and hopefully adapt in their own lives. We need more books telling our children how to be environmentally friendly in this day and age, so kudos to Cabot for blending it in with the plot so well! This book, like its predecessors and sequel, carries out fantastic characterization and is just as humorous, too! The ending's a little anticlimactic and predictable, and I do not think the title fits even slightly, but it's a cute read and I'm sure kids would really enjoy it.

A Great Allie Finkle Story

I liked the idea of Pine Heights Elementary putting on a class play about the Realm of Recycling. That old nasty Cheyenne is back in this book and she is as mean as ever. Cheyenne tries out for the same part as Allie, and this is a very good story. I think this book is funny and I am eager to read the next books. This book is even better than the other books because it is so exciting at the end.

Stage Fright (Allie Finkles Rules for Girls

Finally, a book that interests my daughter, and she will sit and read because she wants to. It fills the gap between Geronimo Stilton, and books with less and less pictures, and more pages. Meg Cabot writes much about the child's awkward (mom you embarrassed me again) emotions, and the how kids can be so emotionally fragile when other kids are not so nice. But like most of Megs books the lessons are good, and a happy ending awaits at the end of the book.

Best book

I loved this book! It's about a girl who wants to be the lead role in a play at school. When she dosen't get the part she wants her uncle tells her that the part she has is pretty good after all.

A New Discovery

Allie Finkle lives by the rules! From those that work only for Allie (Never eat anything red.) to those that work sometimes (If you want to get anywhere, you can't play by the rules.) to those that we all should follow (When you know the right thing to do, you have to do it.) Allie, a less than perfect but always delightful character, confronts how to handle competition with friends and enemies in this novel about a class play. As a long-time fan of Meg Cabot's teen and adult fiction, I enjoyed this book written for a slightly younger reader. Although Stage Fright is the fourth in the series, it's my first exposure to Allie Finkle and I'm sure I'll be back for more. -- Reviewed by Michelle Delisle
