Book assignment on a great book!

This is a really great book and the only biography I've really ever liked. It's about a guy (James Herriot) who is a country vet. This has stories about his work at a pet show, him when he's trying to court his future wife, and it has a lot about the personalities of the animals he treated. It also has a lot of his blunders, like when he got drunk (accidentally, I think) and went out to a farm. The people there were really religious, and he found out the next day the despised drinking! He didn't go out there again. All in all, it was a really good book, and I recommend it for any animal lovers or future vets out there.

Just AWESOME. I use that word rarely, but this is worth it!

Only once a century (or less) someone one like Herriot comes and makes you feel like you are truly there. I wish I could of meet him. He has made me want to be a veterinary doctor. Once again, JUST AWESOME!!!

This book truely captures the rare beauty of being a vet

This book truely reflects the escents of being a country vet on the Yorkshire Dales. It really captivates you and takes you on a journey to the town of Darrowby and surrounds you in the rich atmoshere. I have never been there myself but I feel as if I've lived there my whole life! This is a truly amazimg book I know that anyone who has read it would definetly agree that this book deserves my rating of five stars. James Harriot is most definetly the best author I have ever read!

  An absolute delight!

I read all of the 4 Herriot books when I was in high school, but I find I'm getting so much more out of them as an adult. Mr. Herriot is a delightful companion to take along on an overseas flight, but you should be prepared to explain to your seatmates why you are laughing so hard that tears are streaming down your face!

This is a delightful book guaranteed to banish the blues.

This is a truly great book. I love all Herriot books, he is s man who writes from his heart and all his books have the unique ability of making you smile inspite of all odds.
