A damn fine cooking book

I credit this book with actually getting a heterosexual like me interested in cooking and cuisine. My girlfriend bought it for me when it became impossible for her to cook for us with her job and I sought a more diet with more carbohydrates. She twisted my arm to cook some of the risottos, and after a couple of successes I realised just what a good book this is. Since I have tried most of the soups, all the risottos/rice salads and even a couple of the cornmeal recipes. Okay I'm not an expert, but it's well written and the instructions are easy for laymen to follow. And the meals are generally easy to find ingredients for, easy to cook and most importantly they're all yummy.
