With the exception of some editing and grammatical errors this book was great! I just wish we could have read about Siera and Nick's happy ever after!

Love in tha Hood.

ACTUAL RATING: 4 1/2 STARS This is a very different book than what I'm used to reading. After losing her fiance Trey & son Aaron, Sierra hooks up with Trey's best friend Maverick. He promises to take care of her and he does. Sierra goes back to college and allowes her best friend Teri to take her to a party. There she meets "superthug" Nick Maguire, whom she's instantly attracted to. So much so, that she gets involved with him even when she's still engaged to Maverick. But her fiance has his own dirty secrets that cause Sierra to take her distance from him. In the meantime Nick is pressing Sierra to make up her mind about who she wants to be with. Nick has his own demons to fight, being the leader of the #1 gang in the hood (also: Nick was Trey's righthand man before he died. The next in line to take over Trey's place). And he has a daughter he wants to keep from harm. Everthing seems to be spiralling out of control when Nick, for the first time in his life, gets to experience true love with Sierra. This has him seriously thinking about a future outside of the dead and mayhem in the hood. It's interesting to read a story like this, where you know the hero has done a lot of things that are down right criminal. Yet you're still rooting for him (and his love for Sierra) to pull through. Oh, by the way, this is an iterracial romance.

You should read this!!

This book was amazing. It's features a girl being torn between choosing the man who loves her and was there for her when her family dies or between a man who lives a dangerous life but makes her feel as if she can't live without him. It's interracial but it features more on the characters and their situations. The book was well written by an wonderful author. You won't be dissapointed by purchasing it.
