Painting and Poetry, the intimate languages of the hearts, reach out in unison in this inspirational book. The artist/writer shares through images and words some of the poignant moments of life as he traveled in geography and time. The artist's works included in this book, some exploring the ethical and spiritual issues of our times, are thought provoking. One of the oil paintings, titled "Family Meal", show a Roman Catholic priest during the consecration of the Host - the most solemn moment of the Mass. But instead of the chalice traditionally used in the rite, a french fries box is what has been placed on the altar. The text accompanying the image states: Symbols are creation of many of our strongest needs and desires. What happens when symbols are "misplaced"... when its familiar meanings are questioned? In my paintings, I attempt to express issues of our times, to challenge our awareness by misplaced symbols. Like the images, the poetry is a rich blend of deep sentiments and contemplative thoughts from experiences of the artist.
