This book was a great read. The author really has a gift for making inanimate objects come to life as she describes her characters' lives. Interesting story.
Strange, but Interesting Story

This is a strange novel, not at all what I expected, but certainly not bad by any judgment. In fact, for patient readers the story can be rewarding, and offers unique insight into a world and culture unknown to many American readers. The writing itself is sound, but in my opinion consists of too many simple sentences and not enough sentence variety, sometimes leading to a choppy feel. However, my main complaint about the book doesn't actually have anything to do with the writing, but instead the publishing. For some reason, there are many typos in this book. I found this distracting and couldn't help but wonder whether the author or the editor was to blame. Overall, though, it's a good read, though it does take a bit of patience and probably isn't for people who just want a page-turner. I recommend it for adult readers interested in other cultures, and I have a hunch that women will like this book a little more than men.
