Some Great Ideas!

This book has a lot of really good ideas- many I've never seen. It would be improved with some better photography and a few more related projects. Still- lot's of good ideas.

Connie Sheerin and Janet Pensiero provide many unique and inspiring projects that feature various crafting techniques. None are intimidating, even to the novice crafter. The step-by-step instructions and patterns are very easy to follow. And the tips shared are very helpful. This book offers a plethora of gift ideas that are beautiful, functional and touchingly personal.

Great Ideas For Making Things From All Your STUFF

Treasures Forever takes you through a wonderful journey of making decorative items from collectables, vintage items, photos, and more. From creating pillows with vintage handkerchiefs, to making a baby's first year photo frame, this book, grouped into six sections, gives you craft ideas for just about any occasion, or just because. The photography does leave a lot to be desired which is sad for us crafters that like our craft books to have good, clear illustrations. Some shots have only one part focused which works for some craft and art books, but not for this one. You lose some of the design details (like some of the personal inscriptions) that make these crafts so special. Plus, to me, with such a personal subject of "memories," it seemed that the items should have been shot in warm, photo-styled settings instead of on blank white backdrops in a light box. Still, even with that ever-so-slight distraction, you'll love these crafts from the creative designers who put together this book. They more than make up for it in their detailed instructions and Keepsake Tips sprinkled throughout. It'll make you want to clean out your attic, open forgotten trunks, and empty your junk drawers just so you can make a few of these projects.From the Brick House Doorstop, Grandfather Tie Pillow, and the Memory Wrapped Books to making a Family Photo Clock - you just won't believe what all you can do with all your memories.
