The very lonely firefly

Book arrived with part of the title crossed out and written over. Three additional pages had words crossed out and other words written in pen over them. This is NOT a book in good condition

Lights in back don't work

I love this book. A childhood favorite. However, even after spending the same amount as the book for new batteries on Amazon, the lights at the back do not work! So disappointing. A book should NOT be sold as "like new" if this feature isn't working.

Quality of book was not listed correctly

I ordered this book listed as "Like New" and it came ripped and the fireflies light up only intermittently due to the binding of the book being damaged.

Not “like new” condition

This item was listed “like new” however, the fireflies at the end of the book did not light up. The cover was also worn.

Not one of Carle’s best.

Pictures are dark and not very engaging. Not one of Carle’s best.

Firefly

We got ours for a Christmas gift and the back page doesn't work I've changed batteries and nothing. 2nd book I've got with problems.

Story is great, not so much the quality.

I purchased this book as very good quality. The book arrived with markings and stickers all over the book and pages. It took forever to get rid of some and others will have to remain. The worst part is the last page (the special page) was completely disconnected from the rest of the book. It was ripped right down the middle and the surprise no longer worked. Is this considered very good quality?

Buy it!

Okay, don't even hesitate on this book, just buy it! The fireflies light up at the end of the book and there just couldn't be any child anywhere that wouldn't be thrilled with this book. Mine just played and played with it and couldn't put it down. Still is one of his favorites and has to be read VERY frequently! This is such a cute, cute book and very well done. Plus, it has fireworks in it - another household favorite! It goes through and shows the many things that light up at night, explaining them very well. Just grab it and run - you won't be disappointed!

Very Special Book

This is my 15 month old daughters favorite book. At her request I read this story again and again to her every night. She's just started learning a new word "firefly". When we get to the part where we see a dog and a cat and an owl I make the animal noises and she loves it. I love all Eric Carle books and this one is very special to us. Buy it and enjoy with your little one!

A sparkler!

This is an information book about a lonely firefly searching for other fireflies. The search leads him to other sources of light such as light, candle, and flashlight. The text may be a little weak but that is what gives you time to add science discussion or what we feel like when we are feeling lonely. The last page is the best and sparks in those little eyes makes it all worthwhile!

This is a wonderful book for children of all ages.

My son and I have checked this book out of the library many times. We are now going to purchase this one along with the "very Quiet Cricket" and the new one coming out this year. I would recommed these books to anyone who loves Eric Carle books.

Every child I know loves it--great surprise on last page

Eric Carle's books are enduring favorites with our family.This one isparticularly fun because when you turn the last page, all the fireflies flash their lights. Great for bedtime with the lights down low!
