Pagan Snake 1%er

The writer did a good job describing the events and Pagan Snake 1%er . If a person was not alive or around back then this gives them a window to look back through , but for the present day active member or person's at least partially involved in the motorcycle culture of present day , you can relate to the mentality and the situation surrounding these events . Shocking and horrible to some , another day in the life of a Pagan MC member or really most any other 1% biker club or organization . Ronnie 1%er Pagan's MC

Suspenseful

This is a harrowing book. The naivete and innocence of Daryl and Jim is in sharp contrast to the violence and viciousness of the two predators. This story makes a powerful case for parents to warn their children to be careful of people they know nothing about and children not to be too trusting of people they meet. Kingsbury skillfully balances the suspense of the investigation with the desperation, grief, and anguish of the parents. Perfectly paced, this book masterfully demonstrates the frightening fact that there are many snakes and spiders in this world - and they don't always live in the wilderness.

Kingsbury knows how to deliver excellent true crime!

There are a myriad of true crime "journalists" out there who need to read this book and learn how to become a true crime "novelist". The author, Kingsbury, takes this small story and knows how to keep an air of suspense throughout the book. I hope teenagers in the 90's are a bit more street smart (though, I doubt it) to get themselves into the dangerous predicament that these two boys did back in 1978. Parents may want to read this book, if they can find it, and give it to their kids.

This book was very emotional for me.

When I found this book it the book store I was skocked to see it. See, Darryl Barber is..was my cousin. Although I had ever had the chance to meet him I heard everything about him. A little from my family and most of it from my mom. Darryl and her were close when she was my age. I couldn't understand completely what happened until I heard the book. My friend and I were planning a trip to Daytona that spring break but after we both read the book we decided to wait and we went to Jax Beach to her mom's instead.
