Get me a box of Kleenex!

Lately I've kind of had a hard time reading Anita Stansfield's books. I've always loved her books, but have been kind of irritated because she seems to like to use a lot of the same phrases a lot. All her characters just happen to have the same personalities and say the same things as everyone else. I don't know if this is making any sense whatsoever, but basically I felt like she wasn't giving much depth to her characters and everyone just kind of blended in to one another. This book started out much the same way to me, but I was able to get past it because the storyline really captivated me. It was quite a tragic story and deals with accepting that a loved one is going to die. I won't ruin it for those who haven't read it, but someone we've come to know and love in previous books is going to pass away. I found myself crying at the end and felt like I'd actually lost someone I loved. While I still do have a hard time with repeated phrases such as "she eagerly agreed" and "Amen" and would like to see a little more character development, I did enjoy this book because the plot was very defined and very real and I really felt the ups and downs that this family has to face. I would definitely recommend this book, especially if they've read the previous books in the series and especially if they've read all of Michael and Emily's stories!
