Resurgence of a genre

If you've longed for a return to the classic Western drama of the lone hero but thought the genre was dead, this is the series for you. Although I'm not a fan of Westerns in general, I enjoy a good read regardless of genre. And if you already are a fan of the Old West, you will definitely enjoy the Max Blake series. I admit, I read the first book because I know the author personally, but I was pleasantly surprised by the storytelling. Now I'm just starting the second book and knowing I'm going to enjoy the ride.

Best Western I've read!

Best Western I've read Sometimes you need to take a leap of faith with a new writer. I've shunned Western novels but after my son (an avid Louie L'Amour fan) spoke so highly of "The Killing Trail" I decided that I should give it a shot. If you are looking for a fast-paced, action packed story, read this book. The shooting scenes dripped with graphic detail. Marshal Max Blake will be a strong character throughout Florence's series. When I was a kid, I watched "Gunsmoke" every Saturday night with my Dad. If you loved Matt Dillon you'll like Max Blake, too. My dad would have enjoyed the book, too. Can't wait to read the next installment: "Trail of Revenge."
