The Message Lives On

While the other reviewer has pointed out that this book can't capture Dave's presentation style or humor, nevertheless it's message is powerful and convicting. It's too easy to get into a program or habit of doing "Christian" things--even as a church staffer--and let the real first love slowly die. Having polio and Cystic Fibrosis limited Dave's life span, but not his heart. Dave walked with the Lord as few others have and even today I can't think of a better authority on the subject of his book: following God out of a true passion for Him, developing an internal heart and passion for Christianity. Working for Dave in the early 80's I often got to see him 24/7 on youth camps and retreats or just hanging out and he was the real deal--not perfect by any means, but a heart for God that just wouldn't quit.
