Air Power History 1903 until 1975

This book covers the entire history of a mode of fighting that in less than 70 years has totally revolutionalised warfare. The book deals with the development of warplanes from the first inevitably primitive machines of World War I to the very latest complex and sophisticated aircraft of 1974. This extensive volume contains: 320 technically perfect full color profile drawings displaying most major aircraft in their combat markings; many original maps and diagrams; a host of detailed charts of specifications and statistics; more then 300 powerful pictures, many in full color and over 100,000 words compiled into 31 chapters. For a book being over 31 years old, I loved it!

Excellent

Although dated in some areas, this work is one of the best general military aviation books ever written. The writers do an excellent job of covering the history of military from its beginnings up to the modern era; which at the time of publication was the late 1970's.
