The Collected Chaff: Version 1.0

THE COLLECTED CHAFF, VERSION 1.0 is the result of more than two decades of writing and revising. The fifty poems in this collection are reflective, emotionally charged, and grounded in the beauty and tragedy of everyday experiences. I envision The Collected Chaff to be an ongoing, evolving project. Two very different sources of inspiration inform my approach to the publication of my writing.Walt Whitman continuously revised Leaves of Grass. He added works, revised existing pieces, and refined the collection throughout his life.In a similar way, software programmers release updated versions of their software. I love to think of these endeavors as quests to get as close to perfection as humans are possible. I add another step to this. I place all of my writing that I deem ready for a "first viewing" on my blog at www.CarneyLentz.com. This serves as a way to get initial reactions from others while also acting as a backup of the various phases of a poem's existence.
