Wish I had purchased this book months ago! (updated)

After 5 months of unsuccessful job hunting (6-8 hours everyday, 50-100 resumes sent a week, resulting in only 5 interviews in 5 months)...I checked out your book "The Career Coward's Guide to Resumes" from my local library... I was inspired and sucked in immediately! I immersed myself in your easily approachable process right away with a sense of accomplishment at each step. I probably took longer than necessary [I tend towards procrastination and caution] with the added step of asking friends and colleagues for feedback, [all were impressed] thus incurring late charges which were well worth it! Great book to help polish your resume

This book is chock full of great ideas and examples to take a boring resume and turn it into one that will grab the attention of the reader. Every type of resume is covered in the book and will walk you through the process step by step. Great gift for yourself or a struggling friend who is looking to improve their resume and thereby improve their chances to get that interview.

Get the job you've always wanted!

Katy takes a new approach to an age-old problem in this book. I am a civil engineer, and writing a technical resume has always been on my inhibition list. She takes a pain free approach to provide a sensible procedure to the complicated process of writing a target technical resume. She laid out a straight forward method to help everyone from the novice starting from scratch to the experienced just revamping an old resume for a new position. This book has it all, and in an easy to follow format. I was able to take my generic, all-encompassing, historic resume and fine tune it to job-specific descriptions. I accredit Katy to providing me with the tools I needed to prove myself at several interviews, and ultimately land the job that I wanted. Thanks Katy!

It Works!

The methods in this book really work! The author, Katy Piotrowski's sensible, doable advice was instrumental in helping me get more responses to my resume. Seriously, I went from getting decent results to getting great results. Since using the ideas and suggestions from this book (since late June), I've received one offer and I have another interview next week plus other positive feedbacks. Another Useful Tool!

As a Career Counselor, I'm always assisting my clients with resumes. Creating a "target" resume is a foreign concept to most folks. It's a common misconception to include your entire work history and every experience on your resume. Katy's book focuses on how to match your resume to a specific job. She gives strategies that have proven successful for myself and my clients on how to incorporate your most relevant skills and experience for a particular position. This technique makes it easier for an employer to know which job you're interested in and how you stand out as a candidate. I love the before and after resume samples and refer to them often.
