Must reading to understand Cape Breton

A good history of the CBH, indeed the only one I know! It brings home the reality these men faced in Europe and also gives valuable insight into the society from which they came. This is important not just for Canadian military history, but also for Canadian history. The only draw back to the book is that it is written in a very formal military style.
