This is a truly amazing book. Read it. Then read it again. I have read the Bible, the Tao Te Ching, the Tao of Pooh, Walden, Fountainhead, Illusions, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, the Mutant Message, the Way of the Peaceful Warrior, and many fun, goofy, fluffy books that point to spiritual matters. Ken Wilber's A Brief History Everything and Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything took valiant (even funny) stabs at describing it all and getting at it all. I have climbed mountains, rafted rivers, run marathons, biked hundreds of miles, vision quested, and attended AA meetings that pierce through to the heart of what matters...I have had many, many more insightful times and read many books... but this one stands out. Someone asked me why I liked poetry and after careful thought I replied: "Because it describes things by not describing them." A book made up of quotes and crafted by and author that is not present yet the book speaks and provides a basis for dialogue unlike anything I have seen so far. It provides scripture, without preaching. It offers truth, without professing it. So far this is the best. I have already given my copy out to a friend, told others about it, and will get another. This new scripture is a must read if you are interested in answers without being told what to do. If you are looking for a voice that resonates with more than one source, this is a book you should listen to. If you are frustrated by ancient texts and dogmas that divide and subjugate those that read them, this book offers hope.
